Dennis Keith Roberts

Dennis K. “Denny” Roberts, 84, of Cedar Falls, IA, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born on November 14, 1941in Fort Dodge, the son of Glenden and Alice Braun Roberts. He graduated from West High School with the class of 1960. Denny enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960, serving several of those years onboard the U.S.S Lyman K. Swensen and the U.S.S. Higbee before being honorably discharged.

Denny married the love of his life, Karen K. Angus on March 20, 1965 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua; she preceded him in death April 21, 2023.

He worked as a manager at Joens Wholesale Foods Distribution for 20 years, after that he was a salesman for Zanios Food Distribution for 8 years, and for Food Services of America Food Distribution for 6 years. Denny was a member of Teamsters Local Credit Union #650, Waterloo American Legion Becker Chapman Post #138, Credit Committee from 1966-1968.

Denny loved spending time at the cabin at Lake Delhi, boating, skiing, and having bon fires. He also loved spending time with family and friends, especially playing card games like Canasta, Whizard, and Dominoes and dice games.

Dennis is survived by son, Brian (Erin) Roberts of Denver, Iowa; several nieces; and many loving friends.

Dennis is preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his parents; sister, Joyce Newton and her husband Ken, in-laws Jean Paterni, Barb and Buck Mildenstein, and Judy Heene, and three nephews, Philip, Scott, and Gary.
